3 years worth of coin = new camera

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

Melody and I saved change for three years. Everyday when I got in, I would empty my pockets of change into two jars, one for pennies and the other for silver coin. The jar finally became full after about 3 years (I’m sure it would have been much quicker if I carried cash) and so I cashed all that silver in and was able to buy a shiny new digital SLR camera. It was actually a little short but it paid for most of it. I could have bought one of those fancy flat screen televisions, or a nice widescreen monitor for my mac book pro, but instead we got us a camera. Its the perfect compliment to our other camera (7 megapixel olympus point and shoot). I wanted to test out its speed, and since it was so nice out I headed to the backyard with my models and shot some pictures as they ran around.

I was cheap and went with the 8 megapixel version of the Canon Rebel but so far I love everything about it, perfect for the amateur, fool-around, type of picture taker. Most of the pictures I take are usually viewed on a computer screen anyway.

Moral of the story - save your change.

I had to remove an image from Flickr

Rockin’ it, EurostyleLast summer a large group of us traveled down to the Dominican Republic for a little wedding for the newest member of the Wongs. Any who, in classic Wong fashion we decided that it would be funny to sport speedos, you know “when in Rome” kinda thing. No way I could have done it if the other guys weren’t there. It honestly was a riot. So I posted a set of pictures on Flickr from the D.R., including one of 3 of us in speedos as we scanned the beach for possible trouble (just like they did it on baywatch). So I saw that it was marked as a favorite by a guy, so I looked at his other images marked as favorite. Yeah, that was a mistake. I think Josh was a part of some guy’s fantasy. There was also a request from the admin of the “men together” group wanting to include that image in their group set. Needless to say that photo can’t be found on Flickr anymore. So, there is the image, one last view.
